College Liaison

Minimum Salary: $39,000

Description of Job Duties:

Engage and Support High School Students and Families:
  • Build strong relationships with high school students and their families, particularly within the Hispanic and underserved communities
  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that encourages open dialogue and trust
  • Work on the Titus, Camp, and Morris County high school campuses and the NTCC campus
One-to-One Advising and Enrollment Sessions:
  • Conduct regular follow-ups with high school students and their parents, offering guidance, support and assistance
  • Schedule and facilitate one-to-one advising sessions to discuss academic and career goals, course selection, and the college application process
Identify Challenges and Opportunities:
  • Work collaboratively with students and their families to identify challenges and opportunities related to pursuing higher education
  • Provide relevant information and support to address these challenges effectively
Coordinate Outreach Activities:
  • Organize and coordinate activities at targeted high schools to raise awareness about college opportunities
  • Collaborate with school administrators and teachers to conduct workshops, seminars, and informational sessions for students and parents
Financial Aid and Scholarships:
  • Assist students and their families in completing financial aid applications, including FAFSA and scholarship applications
  • Provide guidance on available financial resources and scholarship opportunities
Prevent "Summer Melt":
  • Continuously engage admitted students to ensure they meet critical enrollment milestones
  • Develop strategies to prevent "summer melt" by addressing any barriers to enrollment

Experience and other Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, social work, or a related field
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience working with underserved communities, particularly Hispanic and first-generation college students
  • Knowledge of college admissions processes and financial aid programs
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
